The sylphs have a new home

Well, it looks like they do.

I've signed a contract with Amazon for the sylph series. If they win the auction at the end of this month (I think they will. I don't know of anyone else bidding), then the first three sylph books will be rereleased and, from the sound of it, the fourth and fifth books will come out as well.  So woohoo!

So, more books, books that people can actually FIND in a bookstore, and hopefully many more readers. :)

  1. Yay! Congratulations! Do you know if they will also be releasing them in paperback?

    1. I don't know. I think so. The contract includes the rates I'll be paid for paperbacks. I certainly hope they do. The trades are far too expensive.

    1. I hope so. I've asked what their distribution is like but haven't heard back yet.

    2. unless amazon has changed it's ways they will not let anyone else sell the ebooks. back in the winter bn and other DTB stores banned all amazon DTB's because amazon refused to let them sell the ebooks. dunno if thats still the case I haven't heard anything more about it since then.

If amazon is still refuseing to let others sell the ebooks then sadly I won't be reading 4 and 5 I won't support amazon wanting to be the only ebook seller

  7. I'm happy for you but sad for me. I do NOT support Amazon and I know that they like to be exclusive, so looks like the books won't be on BN or Kobo or anywhere else. ;-(

    1. Crap... The whole point of my signing was to get the books out more. I was looking at the chance to get distribution in paperback more than I was ebooks.

    1. Oh, I'm glad to see that. Hopefully it does mean that people can read them on whatever device they want. I never did care for the concept of 'platform specific'. Thanks for the link.

  10. When do you think book 4 will come out? Have you written it already and just waiting to release until you sign with amazon?

    1. 4 and 5 are written. My agent sent 4 to Amazon about a week or so ago. I haven't heard anything yet. It can take a long time before they're accepted and also a long time to get the book polished enough to go on the shelf. It's usually a year after I sell the book.
